John B. Sawyer is the Founder, Principal, and Chief Executive Officer of Hemisphere Aerospace Investments, providing executive leadership across HAI and Hemisphere Aerospace Defense. He brings nearly four decades of commercial aerospace experience, including three decades in executive and board-level roles, and has originated, negotiated, and closed more than 250 aircraft transactions.
His career spans the full lifecycle of complex aviation assets: acquisition, financing, leasing, heavy maintenance, modification, and return to service. He launched a Boeing 737-400 passenger-to-freighter conversion program spanning more than 40 aircraft, with recent B737-800 sales and retrofits for SpaceX and RTX Corporation, coordinating engineering, certification, MRO providers, and supplier networks across multiple organizations.
His experience includes large-scale aviation transactions requiring the coordination of aircraft, equipment, spare parts, logistics, maintenance, and complex supplier networks, including a principal role in the 2003 US Airways acquisition of 105 aircraft, one of the largest used-aircraft transactions in history.
At Hemisphere Aerospace Defense, John applies that experience to moving programs from concept and acquisition into operational capability, where disciplined execution, supply-chain coordination, and long-term sustainment determine mission success.
